Practicing Rain

I went out for a walk and saw this lovely tulip today. And then I came home to find the rain pants that I ordered had arrived. I am packing for a pilgrimage to Iona (Scotland) and we are planning to spend a lot of time outside, no matter what the weather. So my little walk in the rain today was a warm up.

The rain certainly adds a lovely dimension to already lovely things.

So, bring it, clouds and wind and rain. I am going on a pilgrimage.

Glorify the Lord, you angels and all powers of the Lord, *
O heavens and all waters above the heavens.
Sun and moon and stars of the sky, glorify the Lord, *
praise him and highly exalt him for ever.

Glorify the Lord, every shower of rain and fall of dew, *
all winds and fire and heat.
Winter and Summer, glorify the Lord, *
praise him and highly exalt him for ever.

Glorify the Lord, O chill and cold, *
drops of dew and flakes of snow.
Frost and cold, ice and sleet, glorify the Lord, *
praise him and highly exalt him for ever.

Glorify the Lord, O nights and days, *
O shining light and enfolding dark.
Storm clouds and thunderbolts, glorify the Lord, *
praise him and highly exalt him for ever.

Have a wonderful time Penny and let's hope you don't need the rain pants (whatever they are).
Beautiful photo of the poor drowning tulip.

Thanks, Ray! I expect I will need them. It will be ok. I can stay relatively dry and still go out exploring.

Oo, when will you be there, Penny? I've made one brief visit to Iona (a day trip from Mull) and absolutely loved it. Have a really blessed time, whatever the weather.

I arrive in Glasgow April 24 and fly back on May 3. It's gonna be great!

That means you and I will be in Scotland at the same time, even if too far away to bump into each other. I do hope the weather settles down for your visit.

Cool! Wish we would be closer. Since we are there for 10 days, surely a few of them will be sunny?!? We went to Skye 25 years ago, just for two days, and it poured the whole time.

Fingers crossed you'll get a normal British mixture of sunshine and showers. Iona is on the western edge of Mull and may well have less rain than the more mountainous islands like Skye.
