Evening Prayer

The Rose Center for Earth and Space at the Hayden Planetarium in Manhattan

Seek him who made the Pleiades and Orion, and turns deep darkness into the morning, and darkens the day into night; who calls for the waters of the sea and pours them out upon the surface of the earth: The Lord is his name.  (Amos 5:8)

Those words from Amos are among my favourite words of scripture. I'm thinking of them on the clear, frosty nights we've had here when I can see Orion overhead and even, despite suburban light pollution, sometimes catch a glimpse of the Pleiades.
How nice, Antonia! I love looking at the stars but am fairly ignorant about which are which except for when I'm at the beach at night and can see the Milky Way. I always love that.
