Nearly Wordless Wednesday: Paper birds


We recently visited the MIT Museum in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where we enjoyed an exhibition of kinetic sculptures by Arthur Ganson. This one was made of scraps of paper and when you pushed a pedal, they flapped like birds. Very peaceful, like Advent. Or at least like I wish Advent would always be.

Beautiful until you get to the mechanism. What a lovely novel idea. There really are some very creative people in the world aren't there?
Indeed. One thinks of engineers as being these scientific guys who make machinery like air conditioning systems but this guy makes whimsical things to be experienced with pure joy.
