Collect for the Fifth Sunday of Lent

Almighty God, you alone can bring into order the unruly wills and affections of sinners: Grant your people grace to love what you command and desire what you promise; that, among the swift and varied changes of the world, our hearts may surely there be fixed where true joys are to be found; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Lovely shot. Thanks for doing these. Pros need a place to stop and contemplate Godā€™s mystery. Itā€™s tough, exploring words and feelings we donā€™t, canā€™t ever fully understand. It helps to take refuge in the heartā€™s cave. You show the entrance to that safe oasis sometimes.

Thanks, Sheldon. I try to offer a place for approaching mystery through something other than just words here.

This bas relief is over the door/under the organ in the chapel at Riverside Church in Manhattan. One of the loveliest sacred spaces I've ever seen.
