Bonus Post:

This is a post from Bishop Alan Wilson (Bishop of Buckingham, Church of England) on his blog, aptly named Bishop Alan's Blog, called "Ride a Dead Horse." Bishop Alan was born in Edinburgh and so he has that lovely accent, even in print. Anyway, you just have to read it. (Money quote: "Meanwhile, in Churches all over the country, some programmed activities stagger on way past their sell-by date, bereft of passion, commitment and support, running on guilt and the fading memory of supposedly glorious days gone by.") And there is a handy list of strategies to deal with the dead horse (promote it to supervisor; lowering standards so that dead horses must be included...)

It's funny and sad and true. The post is here.

Thanks to Grandmere Mimi for reminding me to keep reading Bishop Alan's blog.
