Saturday Morning Jazz





The Jeffrey Cox Quartet plays Robert Glasper's FTB. This is from the concert they played last fall. They're playing another concert tonight in the same venue... I hope I'll have some video of that concert soon.  Meanwhile, enjoy!

Thanks to Mike Holiman for the video.  Players are Andres Rovira (piano), Andrew Sommer (bass), Jordan Holiman (drums) and Jeffrey Cox (trumpet).

Another nice clip from last fall's concert. Mike Holiman's video has high quality audio to go along with the video. I look forward to the clips from tonight's concert. A couple of idle curiosity questions: Are any of the other members of Jeffrey's band graduating seniors? Are any of them choosing, like Jeffrey, to continue on in music?

Thanks, BIll. Yes, the bass player is headed for Juilliard and the drummer will study at North Texas, which has a fabulous big band jazz program. Jeffrey is headed to the New England Conservatory in Boston. The piano player still has another year of high school.
