Nearly Wordless Wednesday: The Ibis Looks at You


This is a juvenile white ibis. The curved beak is great for poking into marsh mud and shallow water for crayfish and other delights.

Thanks, Ray! This bird's beak is pretty substantial, so I guess the head is small to compensate. It is an interesting, and rather large, creature. I had never see one in this particular location before. It posed for me nicely!
