Morning Prayer for Friday
you made us for relationship,
for connection,
for communion.
Strengthen our bonds,
hallow our communities,
make us mindful of the needs of all
whom you have made,
whom you love as you love us.
Today, the day on which your blessed Son
cried out from the cross,
we cry out for our
brothers and sisters in Japan
and all places where the Earth's shuddering
has brought destruction.
We cry out for our
brothers and sisters in all places
of bloody conflict.
We cry out for our
brothers and sisters in places
of despair, disease, displacement.
We cry out for justice
for mercy
for loving kindness.
For you are the God of Love.
Make us love, too.
