Friday Video Extra: Kent State, Ohio.

Today is the 42nd anniversary of what came to be known simply as "Kent State."  Four students were killed and nine others wounded by National Guardsmen who fired 60-something shots into a anti-war rally protesting President Nixon's announcement of the invasion of Cambodia on May 4, 1970.

The images in this video might be disturbing. But they were always in the backdrop during the years I was in high school.

Nice music clip from Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. Many of those images are disturbing to see, both now and then, because the Vietnam War in itself was a profoundly disturbing wound to the national soul that the country is still trying to heal.
Yes. A profound soul wound.
